The social aspects of these two tools would be endless. However, I'm not too sure how they could be used in a classroom. Bighugelabs has a "map" creator aspect to it, which would be great to use in a classroom. And, I know for a fact that Mr. Fausnaught uses Animoto in his blog quite a bit. Parents can see a video each week of what occurred at the middle school that week.
We've used Big Huge Labs for a couple of projects. One was that I had the students make a magazine cover for a travel guide (I teach geography). Animoto is so easy to use...and you can get free full version accounts for students.
